The Calendula flower makes good homeopathic medicine. People use this flower to make oils, lotions, creams, balms, soaps, teas and so much more. The calendula flower helps ease muscle spasms, reduces fever, helps sore throat, menstrual cramps, cancer and ulcers. 

  To plant start calendula seeds indoors in seed starter mix about six to eight weeks before the last frost date. Or, you can sow them directly into the garden just before the last spring frost date.  Plant seeds spaced 12 to 18 inches apart, in well-drained soil.
