Rouge De Verona Radicchio can be compared to a cross between a cabbage and lettuce but is actually a member of the chicory family. Can be used for its leaves and root, and has a bitter and spicy taste. Typically the bitter leaves are eaten in salads, but can be cooked as well. Leaves will be a beautiful burgundy red when radicchio is ready to eat.
