A New England favorite, the "Burgess Buttercup" has long been considered by many to be the finest tasting of all winter squash. It develops 15 foot vines which produce 10-12 luscious orange-flesh fruit weighing up to 5 pounds each! Harvest when fruits are full size and have a deep rich color and hard rinds that can’t be easily dented with a finger nail. To harvest, cut stem at least 2” from the fruit: Cure after harvest by keeping in a warm, dry location for a few days then store.
